Vernon S. Galliher, 93, passed away on November 12, 2025 at UPMC Western MD, after a brief illness.

Born on November 19, 1931 in his family's cabin in Green Ridge, MD to the late Pinkney Charles and Agnes Rose (Twigg) Galliher. Vernon was proceeded in death by his siblings, Virginia Brown, Arley Galliher, Millie Johnson and Wilbert Galliher; son-in-law, Kevin Krumpach.

Professionally Vernon worked for the B&O Railroad, PPG Industries as a laborer and then moved onto work for the Maryland State Highway Administration as a state road inspector until retirement. He first joined the Marine Reserves and then served for the United States Air Force for four years. Vernon was very active with Bethel Assembly of God in Oldtown, MD, serving as a trustee, Church Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and prayer warrior. Above all else, Vernon loved spending time with his family.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Rita Mae (Carrico) Galliher; children, Colleen Krumpach, Linda Beeman (Mark), Brenda Galliher and Richard Galliher (Patricia); grandchildren, Justin, Tiffany, Erik, Ashley, Joshua, Shawn, Raquel, Alexis and Savannah; great grandchildren, Cash, Cassidy, Korrine, Jackson, Kourtney, Jaiden, Justin Jr., Monroe, Jamison, Cole, Weston, Jacob, Joseph, Jonathan, Finnley, and Bentley; and dear sisters, Helen Golden and Shirley Zeger.

Family will be received at Bethel Assembly of God Church, 17908 Oldtown Rd SE, Oldtown, MD, on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Carolyn Wilson officiating.

Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by Ft. Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
