CUMBERLAND – Vickey D. (Bridges) Brown, 67, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Sterling Care Frostburg Village.
Born October 15, 1957, in Cumberland, she was a daughter of Wesley A. Bridges and the late Norma (Gehauf) Bridges. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne Bridges; brothers, Wesley Bridges, Jr. and Eric Douglas Fleek, Sr.; nephew, Ryne Bridges; stepmother, M. Ilene (Morrison) Bridges.
Vickey was a graduate of Fort Hill High School. She went on to proudly serve her country in the United States Army for eight years. On her return, she attended Frostburg State University where she took classes to aid her in her career of working with special needs children.
Vickey leaves behind, in addition to her father, her son, Deain Roberson (Nicole); grandchildren, Lincoln, Reagan, Deanna, and Gianna Roberson; siblings, Rickie Bridges (Robyn), Linda Burgess (Dale), Charlotte White, and Richard Kline (Diana); boyfriend, Jeff Failinger; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 11am to 1pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1pm with Pastor Seth Wharton officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by Ft. Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Vickey's memory may be made to the DAV – Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
