CRESAPTOWN William George "Billy" Barton, 63, of Cresaptown, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.Born on November 26, 1955, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Thomas G. and Evelyn E. (Johnson) Barton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Harry "Mac" McClellan.Billy was a 1973 graduate of Fort Hill High School. He was a member of the Local 489, and was employed by Walter N. Yoder & Sons, Inc. He was owner of Barton Auto Sales, and Barton Golf Driving Range.Billy was a member of Allegheny Flying Club, and had his private pilot's license. He was also a beloved member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2883, and member of the Eagles Riders Group, Cresaptown, member of the Haystack Mountain Club, Inc., LaVale, lifetime member of Goodfellowship Social Club, Inc., Cumberland, and was a member of Fore Sisters Men's Golf Association.He was an avid golfer, and has recorded two Holes-in-One. He enjoyed spending time on the golf course with his sons and friends. In Billy's younger days, he enjoyed racing motocross, and still enjoyed riding motorcycles. You could always spot him riding a tractor on the Barton farm. Billy was a very generous and charitable person. His sense of humor and outgoing personality will be greatly missed.Billy is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cheri Barton; sons, Josh Barton, and Zac Barton; daughter, Samantha Barton and fianc Ty HHemmis; brother, Tom Barton and wife Janet; sister, Nancy Cole and husband Conrad; nephews, Mike and Tommy Barton; nieces, Debbie Stotler and husband Emmett, Kim and Beth Fuller; mother-in-law, Sylvia McClellan; aunt, Margaret Brownley; as well as numerous cousins, great-nephews, great-nieces, and friends who were considered family.Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Friday, March 8, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Church 14923 Winchester Rd SW, Cresaptown, on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Ambrose Cemetery.
