CUMBERLAND – William Frederick "Bill" Hickey, Sr., 83, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, at home. Born October 16, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Frederick Conrad and Veronica Anne (Phillips) Hickey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William F. Hickey, Jr. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. from 1955 to 1980 and earned the rank of MGySgt. He retired from Allegany Ballistics Laboratory and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Our Lady of the Mountains Parish. Bill leaves behind his wife, Shirley May (Stotler) Hickey; children, Dennis Patrick Hickey and wife, Socorro Chavez-Hickey, Julie Anne Rapson and husband, Greg, and Debra Veronica Blume and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Abigail Chavez, Heather Hickey, Christopher Hickey, Greg Rapson, Jr., Kaylyn Rapson, Tyler Zalewski, Autumn Ashley, and Amber Ashley; great-grandchildren, Gunner Roy, Jace Rapson, Aelyn Rapson, Kade Roy, and Khallen Barbe. In accordance with his wishes, Bill will be cremated. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Burial Park on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 11 a.m. Military honors will be accorded by Ft.
