William "Joe" Eugene Riddle, Jr., 78, of Bel Air-Cresaptown, MD, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at his home.

Born February 4, 1947, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late William Eugene "Gene" Riddle, Sr. and Anna Lee (Lippold) Riddle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special aunt, friend, and caregiver, Regina Raley.

Joe attended Friends Aware and later the Cumberland Covenant House; where he made many friends and received excellent care over many years. He competed in the Special Olympics for many years and received many awards, and he loved bowling with John Kelly and Chris Carney on Tuesdays.

He is survived by his brother, David H. Riddle, Sr. and wife Patricia; two nieces, Amy Smith husband Jeff and Angela Jenkins husband Ricky; one nephew, David Riddle, Jr.; great-nephews, Connor Smith and wife Breanna, Ian Smith, Cayden Riddle, Carson Riddle, Camden Riddle; and one great-niece, Hailey Grace Jenkins; and his extended family.

Visitation will at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, Saturday May 31 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m..

Interment will be with his parents in the MD State Veteran's Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone, MD. Privately at a later date.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Joe's caregivers at the Winslow House and his buddies Bill and Robert. As well to his service coordinator LaKeisha Johnson for helping Joe achieve his goals and enrich his life.
